On Monday, being invited by the community, the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Mykola Tomenko visited Trebukhiv village of Brovary district of Kyiv region. Famous Ukrainian poet Mykola Som visited his birthplace together with the politician.
During the trip, M. Tomenko visited the village school, met the seniors and told them about the enlightening projects implemented by his Foundation "Ridna Krayina (Native Country)".
The presentation of the project for reconstruction of the village centre was presented to M. Tomenko. The project envisages erection of bust of the famous publicist, political and public figure Mykola Halahan who was born in Trebukhiv.
Mykola Tomenko believes that it is important that the local community and school remember their renowned students. The politician noted that he would involve political figures into reconstruction of the village center and erection of the bust of Mykola Halahan on the occasion of his 130th birth anniversary.
